Wherever I Land

Client: Susan Brauer, Travel Writer & Speaker

Project: Website & Blog Redesign

Susan Brauer needed help updating the design of her Wherever I Land website.

Susan had been writing about her travel adventures for years, and like many people during the Covid pandemic, took a deeper look at her work and made the decision to expand from just writing about travel, to sharing her travel adventures via travelogues both virtually (during the pandemic) and live (post-pandemic). These interactive talks provide her audiences a great way to experience other countries and cultures through her personal stories, historic references, pictures, and music. The Travelogue page on the website gives potential customers a quick preview of the optional programs she offers and a brief overview of what the audience is going to see. Finally, the travel blogs that she posts on the website offer short snippets of what she finds interesting and unique about places she’s traveled to.

I designed the new, more expanded and personal look to the site and secured the new domain name for her travel writing and speaking blog. To help Susan ensure that her site stays fresh and relevant, we meet quarterly to update the site and I also provide WordPress training as requested.

“Working with Nancy on the design of my travel-writing website was fantastic. She asked lots of questions and made me really think, not only about how I wanted my site to reflect my love of travel, but also how I wanted visitors to feel when they logged on. She made the site very personal by using my photos in the design of the different pages and giving it an overall feel of a colorful, eye-catching travel photobook.

I truly appreciate the time and care Nancy took with me to create a site that I love and am excited to direct fellow travel-lovers, publishers, and potential travelogue clients to.”
